How long do Solar Panels Last?
Solar PV Panels typically have a lifespan of between 25 and 30 years. With proper care they can last even longer. We provide a follow up Maintenance on all our Installations, with our qualified electricians.

How do I get started?
To get started, please request an estimate. Our team will then visit your premises to ensure suitability and discuss the best options. Afterwards, you will then be sent a quotation with the installation then carried out within just 2-3 weeks.

Is there a Grant for Solar Panels?
Yes, the SEAI offers grants of up to €1,800 for solar panel installations, you can Apply Online here. The grant is suitable for all homeowners, including private landlords for homes built and occupied before 31st December 2020. New Energy can assist with application if required.

Is there a warranty?
Yes, every installation provided by New Energy is backed by a 5 year warranty. Our solar panels come with a 30-year manufacturers warranty. Terms and conditions apply.

Is my roof suitable for Solar Panels?
Most roofs are suitable for solar panels, but factors like roof angle, orientation, and shading can affect efficiency. We offer a free assessment to determine the best setup for your home.

What maintenance is required for solar panels and EV chargers?
Solar panels require minimal maintenance, mainly periodic cleaning and inspections. EV chargers also need little upkeep, but occasional checks ensure they function optimally. Our maintenance includes peace of mind from our yearly maintenance by a qualified electrician.

What happens on cloudy days or at night?
The solar batteries we install store excess energy generated from your solar panels. This ensures a stable energy supply, allowing you to use the stored power at night and when the sun isn't shining.

Can solar panels charge my electric car?
Yes, you can charge your electric vehicle using solar panels. We provide and install chargers that can be configured to use your solar panels as the primary power source. Using solar panels to charge your electric car reduces your reliance on the grid, lowers your electricity bills, and decreases your carbon footprint by utilising renewable energy.

Is there a grant for EV chargers?
The SEAI offers grants of up to €300 for homeowners installing charging points. You can apply online with approval typically granted within a couple of days. New Energy can assist with application if required. Please note that the SEAI require grant approval before installation works commence.

Can car chargers overload my fuse board?
No, all our systems are equipped with smart monitoring capabilities which continuously tracks the total electrical load in your home. If the load becomes too high, for example, when a shower, electric heating, and an electric cooker are all in use simultaneously, the system will reduce power to the charger to manage the demand effectively.
